Choosing the Right Pair of Noise Cancelling Headphones

Ambient noise might as well be an audiophile’s worst enemy, but luckily for us, there are ways of preventing it to reach our ears when we listen to music. If you are interested in choosing a pair of acoustic noise cancelling headphones, then your first choice should be the company that invented them. In 1978, on a flight to Europe, Indian American sound engineer Amar Gopal Bose noticed that the sound emitted by the jet engines did not permit him to enjoy his music. Obviously, the airline-supplied headphones were at fault there, and the founder of Bose Corporation thought that they could be improved so as to cancel the ambient noise. A decade later, his company came up with the first noise cancelling headphones and since then, Bose headsets only got better. Obviously, not all of us are confronted with roaring jet engines when listening to music, but if we can make the experience more immersive, then why not take the chance?

Choosing Right Pair Noise Canc1

Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones are currently among the best products offered by this manufacturer, and at the same time, among the best ambient sound isolating headphones in the world. They employ a patented active noise cancelling technology that negates ambient sound, so that you can enjoy to the fullest your music, audiobooks, movies and games. Bose placed microphones inside and outside the ear cups to sense the ambient noise and reduce it. On top of that, the proprietary ear cushion technology cuts off part of the noise, as well. The proprietary signal processing and the TriPort acoustic headphone structure were also put into action, to make sure that the sound is more lifelike, and that it features deep low tones, despite the small, lightweight ear cups.

After turning them on, the acoustic noise cancelling technology is activated. At this point, you can either use them to cancel the loud noises surrounding you, or you can start listening to music, while still benefiting from the noise reduction technology. The included AAA battery should provide up to 35 hours of audio playback, the only drawback of these headphones being that they stop functioning altogether when the battery runs out.

These acoustic noise cancelling headphones come with two interchangeable, removable cords. While both of them work just fine for listening to music, one of them is dedicated for use with Apple products. The in-line remote control and microphone will enable you to answer and place calls, not to mention that you can control playback effortlessly.

Included in the package are a case and a flight adaptor that might remind some of Amar Bose's idea-filled flight from 1978. Bose QC 15 fold up to fit in the case, and considering that this acoustic noise reduction headset was created for frequent flyers, the addition of such an accessory will undoubtedly be appreciated.

Bose does not disclose the technical specifications of these headphones, but this should not be regarded as a negative attitude. The manufacturer simply wants to prove that the quality does not stand in numbers, but in the clearness of the sound coming out of the Bose QC15.
