NEWS: New Website To Share Olympic Games Tickets

Dixons1107121401451-1.jpgSports fans unable to secure seats for London 2012 Olympics can use a new website to search for friends with spare tickets.

The free Facebook-based service at www.ticketcollective.com allows people to list the events they want to watch, any extra tickets they may have and events they are attending.

Shared information will make the process “more transparent and sociable” and prevent touts from taking advantage of the fans, according to managers of the site.

The service is not intended as a platform for resale or swapping of tickets, they added.

Managing director Andrew Mobbs said: “The application process for London 2012 Olympic tickets on the whole was a lonely experience, with individuals up at all hours applying for groups of tickets, and with a lot of people ending up disappointed.

“So we thought we’d make the whole thing far more sociable and ensure that those with tickets know which of their Facebook friends are attending the same events, and give those without tickets the ability to search and find friends who may have any spare.”
