Google Pixelbook

Google’s high performance Chromebook – the Google Pixelbook – is packed with apps to make planning the perfect Christmas party a breeze.

Here’s how:

The Magic of Christmas Upgraded

1. Festive invites with flair

Want to put your own stamp on the party invites? Then the Pixelbook is here to help.

Simply download the Infinite Painter app, twist your Pixelbook into tablet mode and let your creative juices flow. The touchscreen is super intuitive allowing you to draw directly onto it. Team it with the Pixelbook Pen to achieve precise lines and shapes.

When you’re done, you can email it straight to your guests, saving you time, money and paper. You can even add the invite directly to your Google Calendar, so you’ll know when someone has RSVP’d.

2. Catering covered

Organising catering can be a headache. Thanks to your Google Calendar, you’ll now know exactly how many people to cater for. But what about dietary requirements?

Don’t worry, the Pixelbook’s got this sorted too. Simply create a shared Google Docs file and ask party goers to write down their preferences. You can include sections for people with veggie or vegan diets, food allergies and intolerances. Your guests will be marvelling at what a thoughtful – not to mention organised – host you are!

3. Add some ambience

Snow is falling. Festive tunes are playing. Logs are crackling on the open fire. Christmas has its own special magic that you’ll want to recreate at your party.

Don’t have your own working fireplace? Just use a Google Chromecast to stream the gentle sounds and warm glow of yule logs on Netflix from your Pixelbook to your TV. There’s even the option to have Christmas music playing in the background at the same time.

Prefer your party tunes to be a little more upbeat? Then use the YouTube Music app to get your guests up and dancing. And don’t worry about the party ending too soon – the Pixelbook has 10-hours of battery life, enough to keep up with the most energetic party goers.

4. Capture the magic

You won’t want to forget a single moment, so you’ll no doubt be snapping plenty of candid party pics with your camera phone. But if you get a little snap-happy you’ll be pleased to know Google Photos comes with unlimited storage. It even automatically sorts and tags your photos, saving you a job the next day.

Some of your pics coming out a little dark? No worries. The handy Adobe Lightroom lets you edit your images, boosting colour and contrast and bringing your favourite images to life like never before.

5. Share the memories

No one likes a party to end. But thankfully, reliving the memories couldn’t be easier thanks to Google Drive – a cloud-based storage service that you can access from any internet-enabled device.

You may have uploaded the pics to your Pixelbook, but you’ll be able to view them from your smartphone or tablet too.

You can even give friends and family access to your Google Drive files. For example, you can create a folder called ‘Christmas Shindig’ and share it with your guests so you can all relive the good times, time and time again.
