All aboard the Currys Movie Night

Gone are the days when you could only watch films in a darkened cinema. Open-air screenings are now huge and Netflix has become the go-to site for the best flicks. So, when Currys put on a movie night this Sunday, we decided to do it with a twist. We hosted a screening of Mean Girls for 16 bloggers …on a barge!

So, when Currys put on a movie night this Sunday, we decided to do it with a twist. We hosted a screening of Mean Girls for 16 bloggers …on a barge!

Barging in
The hugely successful #currysmovienight took place along the bustling King’s Cross canal. Guests were escorted onto a one-of-a-kind floating cinema just a few yards from the station.

Attendees enjoyed a few glasses of bubbly while saying their hellos and taking in the stunning views. They then settled down to a screening of the classic noughties film.

Pushing the boat out
Of course, no movie night would be complete without a massive box of popcorn to munch on. Luckily, there was an unlimited supply for our moviegoers plus, plenty of sweets and treats. What’s more, the lovely people from Acer provided us with a fantastic projector for the night. So, our attendees got to enjoy the comedy with stunning picture quality.

Well done to Sara Doucette and Erin Niimi who won our competition for the best tweet or Instagram that night. Both bloggers took home a £25 cinema voucher.

A big thank you to all our attendees who came along and made the movie night such a blast.

If we’ve inspired you to put on your own movie night at home, check out Acer’s fantastic range of home projectors.
