Dixons Retail raises £102,740.23 for BBC´s Children In Need
Amazing efforts from Dixons Retail staff across the country to raise £102,740.23 for Children In Need in just 4 weeks!
Last week we wrote about how our Operations Manager from our Customer Care Centre in Newark waxed his legs, rode in a cycle relay, had an ice bath and got dunked in jelly - all in the name of charity.
This week has been equally as fun (albeit a tad less sticky and painful) as our fund-raising efforts for BBC's Children In Need appeal ramped up ahead of the live event tonight.
Our CEO, Seb, had his office 'spotted' by head office colleagues, at £1 a pop, and matched every donation to raise an extra £1002 for the charity. We quite like the bright new decor...
We were also lucky to witness the debut appearance by new boyband, KNOW Direction. The management team of our Home Services Group - Steve Gibb, Paul Mackle, Jason Roberts, Paul Read, Ryan Keilloh & Chris Georgiou - performed their first live gig in the cubicles of the Dixons Retail head office.
You can watch the video here on our YouTube channel.
Our generous and motivated colleagues up and down the country have been baking cakes, recycling old electronics, dressing up, entering raffles and prodding their friends and family to help with fundraising over the last month.
And tonight we are thrilled to announce that we will be presenting the BBC with a giant cheque for £102,740.23!
We would like to thank each and every colleague and customer for their enthusiasm, creativity and generosity in helping us achieve this fantastic sum in such a short period of time, at our busiest trading period of the year.
