Top 10 greetings that will make your spouse's day
Imagine walking through the front door as you arrive home from work to hear a bespoke message from your partner playing out to greet you: 'Hello gorgeous, I hope you had a great day at work.' Thanks to smart devices this isn't way off in the future but is actually doable right now.
Unlike Joaquin Phoenix in Her, we're not quite at the point where people are having meaningful relationships with their mobile OS just yet. Thankfully.

However we are now able to use technology as a force for good in our quest to keep love's fire burning with romantic gestures and the smart home offers some great twists in this particular tale.
Imagine walking through the front door as you arrive home from work to hear a bespoke message from your partner playing out to greet you: 'Hello gorgeous, I hope you had a great day at work.'
It's a little touch, but it's a moment of thoughtfulness shared that could really cheer up your day.
Thanks to smart devices this isn't way off in the future but is actually doable right now.
Just like your smart home can send you a message when your kids arrive home from school, the SmartThings Hub can detect the arrival of your partner using an SmartThings Presence Sensor or by using their smartphone as a location tracker.
This will then set off a chain of events through the Hub that will trigger a message played through your Sonos Multi-Room Wireless Speaker using a Notify with Sound option that can play custom messages.
And a lot more fun on this theme can be had too… Not only can you get carried away with your messages, but you'll also be able to start using the setup to leave clues for a round-the-house treasure hunt.
Kick off with a message such as, 'look in the top right kitchen cupboard', for example, as your partner walks in, then leave handwritten notes for them to find, or even use connected Philips Hue smart lightbulbs that can change their colour from 'hot' red or 'cold' blue as your partner wanders the house in search of their reward.
And don't forget the Samsung SmartCam that you've linked to your hub so you can watch the fun unfold on the screen of your phone.
Either way, there's plenty of potential to have fun with this new tech, as well as using it for more serious applications such as burglar deterrent.
