The top 3 tech highlights from Panasonic at CES 2017
Panasonic have made some seriously huge announcements at this year’s CES. Here’s the latest breaking news…
Panasonic have been innovating technology for almost 100 years, and as their centurion anniversary approaches, the company announced at CES 2017 that they will be continuing their founder’s ambition to enrich and improve the lives of people through technology.
In the announcement, Panasonic focused on how technology can make busy home life easier and help us to get the best from our entertainment – whether that’s pursuing hobbies, or simply getting great performance from our favourite music.
So, what exciting tech did Panasonic showcase at this year’s CES? We dropped in on their press conference to find out…
1. The CIO - an induction oven that fits on your worktop
Eating healthy can often feel like a bit of a chore. Between juggling work and busy family life, all the prep and cooking time to whip up a nutritious meal is easy to avoid when all you want to do in the evening is relax.
However, Panasonic have announced a breaking innovation in cooking as we know it – the Countertop Induction Oven. In appearance, the CIO looks like a sleek and contemporary microwave. But this compact cooking appliance has the ability to grill, roast, bake and reheat all of your favourite meals at a much faster speed than traditional oven cooking.
Vice President of Electronics for Panasonic announced that the CIO is designed to “cook faster, safer and use less energy”, giving us the ability to cook quick and healthy meals. Panasonic experts have even claimed that you can cook meat, potatoes and vegetables all on one plate to absolute perfection.
2. Totally immersive Technics turntables and speakers
Panasonic announced that their Hi-Fi audio brand, Technics, will be adding three brand new products to its range.
We are definitely seeing a vinyl revival lately, with more and more of us opting for the nostalgia of record players at home rather than streaming on Spotify. Right on trend, Panasonic unveiled the SL1200, a premium-looking turntable that emits robust, rich sound to give you the best from all of your favourite classics.
Like your music loud? Panasonic also reveiled their new SB–G90 speaker system for flawless enhanced volume, and their SUG–700 integrated amplifier.
3. Snap in 6K with the Lumix G85
The Lumix GH4 camera was very much celebrated among photographers. With its 4K video capabilities, mirrorless build, and super fast autofocus, there’s no wonder anticipation has been building for the release of the Lumix GH5.
Panasonic say they have listened to the feedback intently from customers, and have built the GH5 based on this. The Lumix GH5 still boasts the features that photographers loved on the GH4, but they’ve been enhanced to bring you better results from your photography. One of the most impressive features of the Lumix GH5 is that shutterbugs can now experience taking photos in 4K and even 6K.
