Clean dirty blinds with vinegar
Vinegar works wonders on dirty blinds. Just mix equal amounts of vinegar and water in a bowl. Dab a cloth into the mixture, wipe over each slat then say hello to shiny white blinds.
Drag pet hair out of your carpets with a squeegee
Just run the squeegee along the carpet and watch the hair come right out. You may be left with a gross clod of dog or cat fluff but the squeegee definitely works a treat.
Remove tough microwave stains with vinegar and baking soda
Mix a 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar together in a bowl. Microwave it for 10 minutes on full power then take the bowl out. Wipe off any loose stains inside the microwave with baking soda and a damp sponge. Your microwave will look as good as new.
Remove water rings with a blow dryer
Set the hair dryer onto medium heat and hold a couple of inches away from the watermark. Keep wiping the stain as you apply the heat. After 20 minutes, the water ring should vanish!
Spruce up your sink with citrus fruit
Cut a lemon or lime in half, and pour some baking soda into a bowl. Dip the fruit into the soda and then use it to scrub away at any dirt. Repeat as many times as necessary, then rinse away any leftover grease or stains. The result is a squeaky clean sink.
Unclog your shower head with a plastic bag
Pour some distilled white vinegar into a small plastic bag then secure it to your shower head with a rubber band. Let it soak for one hour, wipe clean with a wet cloth and then enjoy a smooth lime scale-free shower.
Degrease your cast iron frying pans with salt
Dampen your cast iron pan with a little water, add a scoop of sea salt then scrub with a soft sponge. Grease, rust and food residue will quickly disappear. When you're finished, rinse the salt away and dry.
Remove lipstick stains with hairspray
Spray the lipstick stain with hairspray and then leave for 10 minutes. Use a damp washcloth to dab the stains then wash your shirt or bed sheets as normal. The lipstick mark should vanish.
Even out carpet dents with ice cubes
Leave the ice cubes to melt and watch your carpet spring back to life.
Restore your old trainers with toothpaste
Grab a toothbrush, some toothpaste and scrub away. Once the original colour has returned give the shoes a rinse. You'll notice the transformation in seconds!
