#CoffeeWithCurrys event with Nespresso
With the popularity of coffee continuing to grow, we decided to hold an event on behalf of Nespresso, giving bloggers the chance to release their inner barista with a range of coffee inspired activities.
According to the British association of coffee, in the UK we drink approximately 70 million cups of coffee per day. With the popularity of coffee continuing to grow, we decided to hold an event on behalf of Nespresso, giving bloggers the chance to release their inner barista with a range of coffee inspired activities.
The #CoffeeWithCurrys event took place on Saturday afternoon at The Fable in London. When they arrived, guests were greeted with bottles of drink and a variety of juices to choose from, along with tasty nibbles to enjoy while getting to know one another.
A chance to expresso themselves
After a short introduction, bloggers were split up into small groups to make their way around four interactive workstations. One of these was the coffee cocktails station, where a trained mixologist explained different blends and how best to highlight certain flavours, before bloggers attempted to mix their own caffeine concoctions.
A whole latte love
At the latte art station bloggers got to speak to a professional barista and learn how to make the perfect latte. They then had the chance to test out their own creative side using coffee stencils and chocolate sprinkles to create their own coffee masterpieces.
Bloggers could also visit the Nespresso brand station where they had the opportunity to discover more about the brand and its fascinating history. The final 'coffee tasting' station was incredibly popular, stocked with a mixture of delicious espresso coffees made freshly from the many Nespresso coffee machines at the event. Specific chocolates were also used to complement the different flavours and sharpen their taste.
Just in case that wasn't enough coffee goodness for one day, once all the activities were finished the bloggers were served delicious coffee-flavoured brownies and walnut cakes.
We are now pleased to announce that Rebecca from runawaykiwi.com won Best Tweet for her tweets throughout the event, and Amy from shecookssheeats.co.uk won Best Instagram picture. Both girls will receive a Nespresso Inissia coffee machine for their efforts!
So many blends, so little time
By 4pm, it was time to head home, with each blogger receiving a goody bag complete with Nespresso chocolates and Currys branded cupcakes.
A big thank you to everyone who came to the event, make sure you check out the #CoffeeWithCurrys hashtag to see more amazing tweets and pictures from the day.
