#Currysinthekitchen - Currys´ First Food Blogger Event!
21 excited food bloggers, gorgeous canapés and carrot juice, plenty of cameras and a fantastic team of chefs: welcome to #Currysinthekitchen!
Last night, Currys hosted our first ever event for food bloggers when we invited a group of fantastic food writers down to the Underground Cookery School in Central London. It was a great opportunity for everyone to meet up, share recipes and learn how to cook a delicious two-course meal.
We had a lot of help from Kenwood who sent us a great range of blenders and food processors for use during the event, including a pretty Patissier, an ice crushing blender and the stylish Kenwood Chef (more on these later!).

#Currysinthekitchen - The Preparation
Led by the fantastic Carlos Toban and his team of charismatic chefs, our bloggers were taught how to make a two-course meal comprising of a chicken or vegetable curry and a pear soufflé. Looking great in their #Currysinthekitchen aprons, our bloggers got to work by boning their chicken and preparing the vegetables.
After adding their sauce and then their chicken to the hot pan (apparently doing it in this order helps poach the chicken in the sauce - you learn something new every day!) our budding chefs mixed in herbs and spices and maintained a watchful eye over their creations. Before long the air was thick with the smell of ginger, garlic and garam masala; enough to make anyone hungry!
For those with a sweet tooth the best was yet to come as Carlos' team led us through his simple recipe for a delicious Pear Soufflé. Using the Kenwood Chef Classic (which you can see in action here) they whipped a smooth and tasty mixture which was then cooked lightly in ceramic ramekins.
The fun didn't stop there though. Having already sampled some delicious (and extremely healthy) carrot & ginger and celery & spinach juices earlier in the evening, our bloggers were treated to a round of refreshing Piña Coladas. Getting the right consistency of crushed ice in a cocktail is rarely a simple job, but Carlos showed us how to do this in a matter of second with a Kenwood kMix blender.
After all of that hard work it was time to relax. Whilst the food they had made finished off cooking, our bloggers got chance to take photos, share their experiences of the night and ask the chefs plenty of questions! Then it was time to sit down, turn up the music and enjoy our curries in the kitchen.
When you bring a group of bloggers together for any event, you're sure to get a lot of photos being taken and you're sure to see some creative social media posting go on. As a thank you for participating we awarded prizes to five bloggers for their creative input; you can see some of our pictures!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to all of the bloggers who came down to event, and we are hugely grateful for the support of Kenwood and the Underground Cookery School for making such a great evening possible!
That's all from us for now, but keep an eye out for more Currys blogger events in the future!
