On a quest to feed the nation's foodies with new inspiration, we decided to do some digging and find out about the latest food trends for 2015.

To help guide us, we enlisted renowned food blogger Natasha Corrett from Honestly Healthy to offer us a hand in the kitchen and show us how to use the most talked about foods currently whetting the appetites of food fans on social media.

We recently invited her to demonstrate a selection of her healthy and delicious recipes at our Thurrock store.

The latest food trends

Did you know that 'brinner' (or breakfast for dinner) is one of the predicted food trends this year? Or that millet is the new quinoa?  Also trending furiously are aubergine, papaya and pomegranate.

A great combination is Natasha's pomegranate bircher museli recipe. Check out the video to see how she makes it:

Pomegrante bircher  recipe

  • 150g oats
  • ½ juice lemon
  • 325g almond milk (or milk of your choice)
  • ½ grated apple
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp sesame

Method:

  • Put the oats into a bowl and cover with the milk
  • Add the apple cinnamon and sesame and mix together
  • Put into the fridge over night
  • Garnish with pomegranates and seeds
