Introducing the new GoPro HERO4 Session: GoPro´s smallest, lightest camera yet

Surfers, cyclists, skateboarders listen up. GoPro has launched a rugged waterproof camera that’s really, really small. It’s called the HERO4 Session.

What’s a GoPro – and do I need one?

Gopro Bike

GoPros are the most portable and versatile cameras on the market. It’s a small camera that lets you record in places you wouldn’t dare to take your smartphone or compact camera.

With loads of accessories you can attach your GoPro to your hand, wrist, arm or leg. Or to your surfboard, skateboard, bike or helmet. You can record yourself taking part in a whole host of different sports and hobbies, and share the footage and images with your friends and family.

Examine your technique, see things from a different perspective, or create amazing videos to share on YouTube.

Gopro Waterslide

GoPros aren't just for extreme sports enthusiats. Ranging from 5 megapixel to 12 megapixel cameras, they take really high quality stills. Their size and range of accessories makes them ideal as a holiday camera. Perfect for the beach or the pool, you can get some really unusual holiday shots, perfect for sharing with your family and friends on Instagram.

Introducing the Go Pro HERO4 Session

Gopro Session Hand

This rugged, cube-shaped camera is really tiny. Each of its 4 sides is less than 1.5 inches long.

It only has 2 buttons, and forgoes an LCD screen making it 50% smaller and 40% lighter than a traditional GoPro.

It comes with specially designed mounts for attaching your camera to your bike helmet or board. And you can buy a separate strap to mount on your wrist or arm.

Things we love:

  • Waterproof right out of the box – there’s no separate housing to add. Surf, snorkel, or swim to as deep as 10m.
  • Super-sharp footage with the ability to film in Full HD resolution (1080p) when shooting at 60 frames per second. Or 1440p at 30 frames per second.
  • Super-easy to use - switch on the camera and start recording by pressing the shutter button. Press again to stop and shut down.
  • Find your best bits easily when editing or playing back by tagging them as you record.
  • Take pictures too. Capture a surfer riding a wave turn-by-turn with burst mode, or take regular stills.
  • Great sound even in the water - there’s less wind noise, as recording swaps between 2 microphones. Water drains fast from the mics too.
  • Change settings like resolution from your phone with the GoPro app and built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. And share videos on Twitter and Instagram.
  • Frame your shots and playback footage using the app.
  • Shooting upside down? The camera automatically flips the video so it’s the right way up when you hit record.
  • Tilt your camera up, down or to the side without removing it from its mount using the Ball Joint Buckle.
  • Shoot run after run with 2 hours of recording time from the built-in battery.

Want to dip your toe into the world of action-cam filmmaking without blowing the budget?
The new HERO+ LCD takes the entry-level GoPro camera and adds a touchscreen to give you greater control over your creativity. The LCD allows you to review your footage in real time. You can make sure you've got the right angle and adjust settings quickly and easily with the touchscreen. This gives you even greater control over your images and videos.

Things we love:

  • Change settings such as resolution and frame rate on the LCD touchscreen.
  • Frame your shots and then play back on the screen.
  • Shoot video in Full HD (1080p) resolution at 60 frames per second.
  • Take pictures too. Capture a skater grinding a rail from start to finish in burst mode.
  • Hit the surf or the pool thanks to the all-in-one design which sees the camera built into a waterproof housing (go as deep as 40m).
  • Keeps out sand and dirt too.
  • Share videos on Instagram and Twitter with the camera’s built in Wi-Fi and the GoPro smartphone app.
  • Find your best bits easily when editing or playing back by tagging them as you record.
