Lights, Camera, Currys! Our Blogger Photography Workshop
This weekend we visited sunny Brighton with a group of bloggers itching to learn more about how to use their DSLR cameras.
Cameras can be sentimental items evoking all sorts of emotions. They can be a thoughtful gift to a friend, they can bring back long forgotten memories, and they may even cause guilt if you are only using a beautifully crafted, hi-spec piece of equipment to take holidays snaps on the automatic function.
If that's the case, then what better way to assuage your guilt than to learn how to use your camera to its full potential, and what better place to do that than beside the seaside?
On a scorching Sunday morning, we went down to Brighton Media Centre with a group of 25 bloggers who were interested in learning how to get the best out of their DSLR. DSLR stands for Digital Single-Lens Reflex and these hi-spec cameras come in all shapes and sizes. For more information and a look through our products, you should check out our range of DSLR cameras at Currys.
DSLR Workshop, Brighton Media Centre, June 8th
After meeting up and going through the introductions, professional photographer Dade Freeman took us through the technical aspects of photography and DSLR cameras and the basics of the models, camera modes and rules of photography.
A brief tea break was then followed by Dade teaching the excited bloggers how to compose their photos, use manual aperture settings and judge the lighting for each of their creations.
The fun really began, however, when we went outside along the sunny Brighton coast to put all of Dade's advice to good use. Our bloggers used their new skills to take photos of the coast line, pier and surrounding reas.
It just so happened that our workshop was taking place in Brighton on the same day as the World Naked Bike Ride. That's not something you see every day!
