The LG Ultra HD 84 inch 3DTV is... Well... Pretty big

When it comes to TVs, bigger is certainly better. And if you have the room to spare in your living room (along with several thousand pounds to burn), you may wish to invest in an 84 inch, Ultra HD 3DTV from LG.

The LG 84 Inch Ultra HD TV in all it's glory...

So... What's it like?

Well, last week I was fortunate enough to be at the Currys megastore in Guildford to look at this amazing TV being installed, and I can assure you that it's a thing of real beauty.

In spite of its quite ridiculous size (it took four guys from LG to carefully remove it from its box), the ultra HD resolution is truly stunning. I know that it may be hard to tell from the photographs, but the picture quality is so sharp, and the vibrant colours almost burst out of the screen. Honestly, if tech blogging was a far more lucrative career, I'd consider getting one of these bad boys.

It's almost as tall as I am.

After we set it up, I then had the opportunity to play around with many of the televisions features. And as you'd expect, it comes equipped with literally everything that a modern TV should come with.

Firstly, the TV is fully SMART, so you can access all of your favourite online services including the BBC iPlayer, Knowhow™ Movies, YouTube, and Twitter. There is even a pretty snazzy Korean Pop app for those who are still (somehow) amused by "Gangnam Style".

The 84 inch LG TV is also 3D capable, which means that you can now sample the delights of all of your favourite 3D films (including Piranha 3DD) from the comfort of your home! But don't worry if you don't have any 3D glasses, as the LG comes with several pairs straight out of the box. They are even available in a couple of nice colours...

Yes, it annoys me that they're wonky too...

As the Guildford store hadn't yet opened, we also had to opportunity to put the televisions 2 subwoofers to the test by watching the Hobbit trailer really really loudly. Again, the LG delivered on this front, as the sound was very clear even at higher volumes.

Final Thoughts

The last thing that I can really say about the 84 inch LG Ultra-HD 3DTV is that it is a real technological triumph. Not only does it look and sound great, but it comes with literally every feature that a modern TV needs. Seriously, if you are actually looking to turn your lounge into a home cinema, then you may want to consider splashing out on this TV.

Although the 84inch LG Ultra HD 3DTV comes with an exceedingly hefty price tag, it is a really beautiful piece of kit that is perfect for the cinema nut (with a large amount of disposable income).
