Staying up too late? Set your smart lights to dim when it's bedtime
Maybe you just want some 'me time' once the kids are asleep. Perhaps you've got into Game of Thrones recently and have developed the binge-watching habit. Whatever the reason for burning the candle at both ends, sooner or later, tiredness catches up and your days start to suffer.

But with a little gentle reminder from your Samsung SmartThings-equipped smart home you can ensure you get to bed in good time to recharge properly and tackle the morning, head on.
Picture the scene: it's midnight and you're totally lost in a one-more-mission loop on Star Wars: Uprising when the lights in the living room gently, but noticeably, pulse and turn a deep red. Instantly your attention is drawn from your iPad and back into the room. Time for bed, so you power down and head off to sleep. It's almost as if your home has your best interests at heart and has tapped you on the shoulder.
To create this helpful sleep reminder you'll need a SmartThings Hub, the free SmartThings app downloaded to your iPhone or Android smartphone, and compatible smart lightbulbs like Philips Hue installed wherever you're most likely to burn the midnight oil.
Cleverly, the SmartThings app lets you group SmartThings sensors and compatible devices by room, which makes grouping all the smart lights in your living room and creating a single action or routine for them all is easy.
With a little tinkering you can tell the lights to flash, pulse, dim and/or change colour in the room at the same time each night (but only if they're already on). After all, you don't want to be fast asleep in bed having decided to have an early night, only to be woken by your bedtime reminder! Sweet dreams…
