Put a spring in your step with our spring cleaning guide!

If you're thinking of giving your house a big spring clean in the coming month, let us guide you through a room-by-room breakdown. What's more, with the Curry's Spring Value sale now on, it could be the perfect time to invest in some new home appliances such as one of our range of vacuum cleaners or our super efficient steam cleaners.
Follow our spring cleaning checklist and pick of the sales item appliances to help you on your way to sparkling show-house glory.
Let's start with the kitchen. This is, after all, the room most used in a family or shared home. First off, you need to give all of the surfaces a good wipedown. Clean up any stains, spillages or residue on the worktops.
De-clutter the space by loading the dishwasher and immediately putting it on a cycle, so you can unload it and fill the storage cupboards once the cycle has finished (rather than leaving it all in the dishwasher and just taking items out as you need them!).
Mop the floors, apply oven cleaner to the oven and get ready for what can be (depending on the number of people living in the house!) the most time consuming job of all; clearing out everything you don't need from the fridge and freezer and giving it a proper internal clean. This is after all, the place where the food you eat is stored, so you need to keep it as hygienic as possible.
Now for the fiddly bits. Take off all of the knobs, burner plates and burner covers from the stove and give them a good wipe down using washing up liquid. While these items are drying do the same for the toaster (remembering to empty out those crumbs!), coffee machine and whatever other small appliances you have.
If you're in the market for some new white goods as part of your spring clean then give the Currys' Spring Value range a look. With cut price dishwashers available from Beko, Kenwood, Hotpoint and LG, you're sure to pick up a bargain that will complement your new clean aesthetic. There's also loads of cooking appliances and fridges on sale with some seriously inviting discounts. This black Samsung Fridge Freezer, for example, has a saving of £200. After all, what's better than a spring clean? A spring refresh of course!
Time required: 1.5 - 2 hours
Products needed: Oven cleaner, mop, sponges, cleaning clothes
This is arguably the room most in need of a thorough deep clean. Start with the worst part; the toilet. Don't forget to scrub the outside, underneath the seat and the handle. Once that's out of the way do the same for the shower and / or bathtub. Thoroughly clean the sink and remove any hair from both the bath and sink plughole.
With those unsavoury aspects out of the way you can move on to the more 'pleasant' jobs! Wipe down all the surfaces and clean the mirrors and tiles. Depending on the type of flooring you have (wooden, tiled, laminate etc.) mop or hoover accordingly.
If you do your laundry in the bathroom then empty the laundry basket and wipe the surfaces around the washing machine. Move the washing machine out a little (get somebody's help with this as it will be heavy) to dust or hoover around the back.
If you want to take this opportunity to upgrade your model then you'll find a whole host of washing machines from Zanussi, Beko, Hotpoint, Samsung, Hoover and LG all available in our sale - this Hotpoint washing machine with Anti-Stain technology, for example, is down to £259.99 from £399.99, a saving of £140!
Time required: 1 hour
Products needed: Scrubber, bleach, window polish, cleaning clothes
Begin with a brief living space clean-up and de-clutter. Just a quick wizz around where you collect all of the coffee mugs, cutlery, magazines, newspapers and general stuff that would get in the way of the actual clean.
Then it's time to get dusting. The chairs, sofa, lamps, curtains, bookshelves, coffee tables and whatever other items of furniture you have should all get a once over. Use of a hoover attachment that will allow you to get into all the nooks and crannies of awkwardly shaped furniture items such as the sofa will come in really handy here.
You'll find loads of vacuum cleaner models with versatile attachments in the Currys Spring Sale, from all of the most popular brands including Vax, Numatic, Hoover and Samsung. There's also a range of steamers and window cleaners on special offer.
Depending on the type of flooring you have hoover (carpets) or brush (wooden) the space underfoot. This goes for any rugs you may have too.
Turn this chore into something of a cleaning game by listening to music while you do it, or partner up with a friend to get it done in double the time.
Time required: 45mins - 1 hour
Products needed: Vacuum cleaner with attachments, step ladder, duster
Like the lounge, start off with a quick clean-up and de-clutter. Grab the items of clothes lying on the floor or on the bed and either put them in the wash or hang them up in the wardrobe.
Then you're ready to start. Begin by stripping off the bed linen and putting it in the wash. Get the help of a friend in moving the bed frame so you can hoover underneath.
Once the bed is out of the way you'll need to give all the drawers, wardrobes and other furniture a thorough dusting. Dust and mop wooden floors or thoroughly hoover if you have carpets in the bedroom. Remember, you spend roughly eight hours a night sleeping in this room so you don't want to be inhaling dust the whole night!
If you've got a full length mirror or a mirror as part of a dressing room table be sure to give these a spray and polish.
