The multi-player beta for the upcoming game Uncharted 3 attracted more than one million gamers in just 24 hours of its release, developer Naughty Dog has said.
Launched on June 28, the beta version will be available until July 14 for gamers to experience modes including Team Deathmatch, Plunder, Three Team Deathmatch, Hardcore, Co-op Adventure, and Co-op Arena.
Naughty Dog has already added new maps – Yemen and Syria – to the initial two available at the beta launch.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, the third game in the series published by Sony for the PlayStation 3, is set to arrive in the UK on November 2.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s community strategist Arne Meyer said the beta launch week was “massive”.
“One day after the Beta went fully public, we passed one million unique players in the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta. Not only that, but the player count is growing with each passing day! We couldn’t be prouder of our community coming out in such numbers to play in the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta,” he said.
